Dimitris is a funky, friendly, cosy place with a Greek/Mediterranean menu and a loyal following - Wonderful seafood meze.

THE TIMES -  50 Best Reasons to visit Manchester. July 2002

This wonderful restaurant is a very popular place and has a lively, Continental-feeling bar area and a lovely, romantically lit arcade. Even with such a large range of food on the menu, nothing seems to disappoint and some dishes exceed all cheap-and-cheerful expectations. Make sure you book at weekends. Dimitris gets very, very busy.

CITY LIFE FOOD & DRINK - October 2007

Each dish was delicious, cooked to perfection from fresh produce.  The service was laid back but efficient and the dishes arrived within 10 minutes of our order being placed.  Drinks were replenished at the right time.  Puddings were soon demolished and declared fantastic. The meal was a resounding success all round and the bill was very reasonable.   Everyone liked all the dishes and we couldn’t find fault with anything.

BOLTON EVENING NEWS, Weekend Food, April 2006

The décor, ambience and menu lean slightly more to general Mediterranean than pure Greek which I hadn’t quite expected but that was fine. I found it reassuringly (and surprisingly) unpretentious, decent no nonsense service, good tasty food, generous portions and good value. Ole.

SUGARVINE, January 2008

Dimitris is one of our favourite late-night drinking bars in town. This legendary Greek restaurant has been serving the residents of Castlefield for over 20 years, and like the red-wine it serves, it gets much better with age. It's a really mixed crowd and it feels so much friendlier than any of the other bars on Deansgate. Maybe it's the staff, maybe it's the ageing decor, but somehow Dimitris feels like your local bar, even if you've never been there before. Our top tip is to drink in the front bar then retire to the ivy-strewn outside space as the night wears on... perfect!
